a goodbye that
feels like them.
Every life is different and every funeral should be too.
Saying goodbye is never easy,
but it doesn’t need to be hard.
At True North, every life is celebrated and honoured in a way that is befitting of the person you have lost.
A True North ceremony will never feel standard, from the first phone call to the very last farewell
- you are in good hands.
working with loved ones
When a loved one dies, there is a lifetime of memories and stories to tell. At times, it can feel overwhelming ensuring that the ceremony you prepare matches who they were in life. So, we start with a conversation.
It is my job to make sure that the final goodbye is truly reflective of who they were, this doesn’t mean reeling off endless dates but instead, it means capturing their essence, discovering the nuances that made them who they were, and highlighting the impact they had on those they love.
-
A funeral director may recommend me, or you may have chosen True North because you have seen me lead a ceremony before. Whatever way we come together, I always start with a call, this way I can offer my condolences, discuss a little bit about your loved one and I can let you know the next steps.

This is your opportunity to tell me about your person. Their life, their personality, their passions, their quirks, the things that made them laugh, and the things that mattered most to them.
Sometimes there are tears, sometimes there is laughter, often there is both.
I want to understand the person beyond the dates and facts.
Who were they when they were at their happiest?
What did they love?
Who loved them?
What stories always get told at family gatherings?
What lessons did they leave behind?
Whether somebody lived a long and full life or a life that feels heartbreakingly short, every story deserves care, dignity, and honesty.Following this call, I will send:

Using everything you have shared and inspired by how your loved one lived their life, I will work on creating a ceremony that feels perfect.
Every ceremony is written specifically for your loved one and the people gathering to remember them.
This means, no templates, no generic wording but instead the ceremony will sound like them, will feel recognisable and will reflect the life they have lived.
Once this is written, the first draft is sent to you - you can request edits, make additions and have anything removed. It is completely up to you.
Nothing is set in stone until you are happy.
-
On the day, my role is to guide you through the ceremony with warmth, calm and confidence.
You don’t need to worry about what happens next or whether everything is running smoothly - your funeral director and I will have everything in hand.
This means, you can focus on what matters most: being present with the people you are sharing this time with and saying a final farewell to the person you loved.
